José R. Carrión has served as Standing Chapter 13 Trustee for Puerto Rico since October 1, 1998, and since 2002 Standing Chapter 12 and 13 Trustee for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. An attorney with more than 30 years of practice, Mr. Carrión is admitted to practice in the U.S. Supreme Court, Puerto Rico state and federal courts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to becoming a trustee, Mr. Carrión held various managerial positions in the consumer banking industry and has represented Banks, debtors and chapter 7 trustees in bankruptcy courts. Between 2007 and 2010 Mr. Carrión was adjunct professor at the Universidad de Puerto Rico School of Law lecturing on Bankruptcy Law. Mr. Carrión received his B.A. and J.D. from the Universidad de Puerto Rico.
